I'm a lawyer currently living in Santiago, Chile. I studied English from the age of 6, both at school and at other institutes such as CEI, CEVAZ, etc, finally graduating in 2016. I continue to improve and learn more and more each day.
I've been working as a freelance translator for over three years now. I've worked with local law firms translating legal documents (my main area of expertise), as well as with various employers via the internet. Since then, I've opened myself to any kind of work, looking to grow as a professional and as a freelancer.
I'm known for my quick turnarounds, accurate translations, and communicative nature. I find it very important to stay in touch with clients (i.e. clearing any doubt that may arise, asking questions, telling them about any progress made, etc.) during contracts. It has proved to be an essential element in achieving a successful outcome for both parties.
I'm also somewhat of a grammar maniac, which makes me an excellent proofreader for both English and Spanish texts. I've gained some experience in this field after going through plenty of docs written by other lawyers, translations done by other freelancers, etc. I try to make the text sound more natural, avoid repetition, punctuation errors, incorrect word usage, among other things.
My skills include:
Excellent Office Suite handling
Fast typing (75-80 WPM)
Plenty of attention to detail
Outstanding grammar and vocabulary skills (in both English and Spanish)
Internet research in all categories, mainly legal
Data Entry (worked as a data entrist for simple tasks on websites)
Machine Learning (same as above, helped with machine learning performing simple yet demanding tasks on websites for various enterprises)
I like to work under pressure because that's what drives me to do my best. Able to: meet short deadlines, work well with others, adapt to the circumstances, etc.
I look forward to working with you all!
